A little bit about Pearl. Located in the heart of Mid-City, this location has been established since 2002 and was formerly under the name, Cork & Bottle. We offer a huge selection of wine in the City of New Orleans with over 600 different labels. We also sell a wide variety of craft beer and specialty liquors. Adjacent to our wine store is our bar serving cocktails, beer and wine with vintages by the glass ranging from $6-$35. If you don’t see a selection you prefer, all bottles from the store are available for a $5 corkage fee.

About The Owner
My love of wine began at the age of fourteen when my parents brought me to my first winery in Sonoma. The smells of the barrels and wine fascinated me and my mother always encouraged me to drink and learn about wine.
At the age of twenty-one, I visited Italy for the first time and fell in love with Chianti. My love affair with Italian wines grew when I moved to California in that same year.
During my seven years in California, I learned a great deal about wine, living in both San Francisco, Los Angeles and working throughout the Central Coast. I followed winemakers, visited wineries often and educated myself on the various regions, grapes and processes.
Once I returned to New Orleans in 2007, I saw a large gap in the wine offerings here in the city. There were gaps not just in the California wines but also worldwide. I was frustrated and set out for wine school in 2009. I attended Chicago Wine School while keeping my home here in New Orleans and have been looking for a space to share my passion ever since. Although my specialty is California Pinot Noir, I select offerings of quality wines from all regions of the world at affordable prices.
It is my hope that Pearl Wine Co. is a place the community can call home. I strive to create an environment where people feel comfortable, relaxed and intrigued by wine, spirits and craft beer.
Our wine cellar is your wine cellar.
Please join me! Cheers!
Why the name pearl?
Many people have asked me why I chose the name Pearl, so I thought I would visit the topic.
I’m named after my Great Grandmother, Leora Pearl. She was an exquisite woman before her time who worked her way from a small town in Ohio to the big city of New York. In the 1920′s & 1930′s she owned a hat shop in Manhattan called Pearl’s Hat Shop. Her customers included White House staff, celebrities like Mae West, Bette Davis and notable locals. I’ve always been fascinated by stories and pictures of her. I named the store in her honor. To the left is the picture I have of her in the store. It’s a picture of her in retirement on the Queen Mary…
